Brief History of CJS
“For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God”.
The people of Sidhi had an ever-cherishing interest and continuous appeal to the Satna Diocesan society and thereafter to the president of the society Most Rev Dr. Mathew Vaniakizhakkel to begin an ICSE school in Sidhi. It was partially fulfilled by the purchase of a piece of land near the District Prison in Sidhi. After the registration, the boundary wall was made and separated the land for the school purpose. In the year 2017 the urge for a ICSE school was raising more and more from the side of the people. Rt Rev. Bishop Dr Joseph Kodakallil entrusted the task to Rev Fr Mathew Cheruvil to develop a plan and estimate for a new school building in the proposed land at Padra.
In the month of September 2017, he cleared all the formalities and legal procedures for the building. Most Rev. Bishop Joseph Kodakallil laid the foundation stone of the building on 17th September 2017. It took three years to finish the work and due to COVID 19, we could not begin the school in the year 2020-21. On February 2nd 2020, school applied for the affiliation and got approval to run the school from 01/04/2020 - 31/03/2023. The Christ Jyoti School began to run in the year 2021 - 22, with the classes 1st to 5th having the total strength of 88 students and with the moto ‘Let your light shine’.
